Our dive boat visits approximately 45 different dive sites scattered along the Agincourt Reef System on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef.

This includes drift & wall dives, isolated pinnacles surrounded by pelagic fish, and coral gardens with their endless variety of colourful wrasses, cods, parrot fish, clown fish, angel fish, clams and anemones, that makes a healthy living reef so beautiful.

We would like to share some of our favourites with you:

Castle Rock

'Castle Rock' is situated on the Agincourt Reef system, north east of Port Douglas, and is home to a large Estuary Cod affectionately named 'Daisy'.

An 'underwater puppy dog' would be the best description of her charming and curious personality. As divers complete a slow 20 minute loop around the coral bommie, 'Daisy' follows like she is connected to a leash and divers commonly describe their experience as though they felt like they were taking her for a walk!

Look out across the 22m deep sandy bottom on the far side of the rock and you will see Blue Spotted Lagoon rays feeding. White Tip Reef Sharks are also commonly found sleeping on the white sandy bottom.

An abundance of inquisitive fish life greet divers head on as they make their way in between 'Castle Rock' and the superb shallower coral gardens. Giant Clams are littered along the shallower side of the rock with their iridescent lips aglow…..you can't miss them! Visibility at this site is always between 15 – 40m.

Barracuda Bommie

This stunning isolated pinnacle of coral on the Agincourt Reef lies in about 18-25m of water teaming with a huge array of schooling fish life. Most noticeably of course is the large schooling Barracuda, hence the name of this dive site.

Divers are encouraged to roll onto their backs during the dive and gaze upwards to witness an iridescent cloud of fish life, including thousands of bright purple Anthias, Unicorn fish and Maori Wrasse schooling at the very top of the pinnacle.

Green turtles commonly wedge themselves into crevices scattered around the edge of this pinnacle formation for a daytime siesta. Soft corals and Gorgonian Fans hang from the edge of the pinnacle and reef sharks cruise along the sandy bottom. A superb dive site, one that you are never quite sure what you are going to see!

A mild current can sometimes be experienced at this site, it is rare that visibility at this site drops below 15 metres, usually at least 20m+.
